UPDATE - PENNSYLVANIA SB 875 REPORTED BY THE SENATE ENVIRONMENTAL REOSURCES & ENERGY COMMITTEE


On June 22, 2015, the Senate Environmental Resources & Energy Committee met to consider Senate Bill No. 875 providing for the use of treated mine water for oil and gas development – which was reported the same day. The Senate Committee vote was 10 in favor and 1 opposed.
Referred to the Senate Committee on June 4, 2015, SB 875 is aimed at encouraging the use of treated mine water in oil and gas operations by clarifying operators’ liabilities associated with the said water.
