A new Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) program
will provide around $10 million in grants for companies and organization to
either buy or convert to natural gas vehicles. The program's broad qualification
standards would allow applicants to develop medium to light weight road
vehicles, trains, or marine vessels that utilize alternative fuels including
electricity and propane in addition to natural gas.
