On January 24, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation fined U.S. Energy for water quality violations resulting from drilling operations within Pennsylvania. The complaint alleges the violations are a result of allowing turbid runoff to escape lease roads and well pads and failure to install adequate erosion and sediment controls.
