Citing a change in its business model, Laser Northeast Gathering Company filed a motion on September 8, 2011, to withdraw its application for public utility status. Laser, currently constructing a $55 million pipeline from Susquehanna County, PA to Broome County, NY, had been approved as a public utility by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission in May 2011. Two other companies, Peregrine Keystone Gas Pipeline and Pentex Pipelines have pending PUC applications and may rely on the precedent established by Laser.
