PA PUC will Hold Public Hearings on Pentex Proposal

On August 4, 2011 the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission announced that it has scheduled two public hearings to take place on September 13, 2011. The purpose of the hearings is to receive public comment on Pentex Pipeline Co.’s application to become a public utility. Pentex is proposing to construct a new gathering system of pipelines connecting shale-gas producers in six Pennsylvania townships to its pre-existing pipeline connection between the Tennessee Gas pipeline and the Cargill gas plant in Bradford County. As a public utility, Pentex could use eminent domain when needed.
