Due to decreased stream levels, the Susquehanna River Basin Commission announced on July 19, 2011, that it has suspended water withdrawal permits for several drilling companies across 10 Pennsylvania counties. Once the water levels have recovered, the streams must flow at the protective level for 48 hours before withdrawals can resume.
