EPA Proposes New Air Emission Rules at Drilling Sites

For the first time in decades, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has proposed new air emission standards aimed at reducing the amounts of volatile organic compounds released during fracking. The proposal, issued July 28, 2011, also seeks to decrease the amounts of methane and other toxins released each year.
