Recently, Zion Research and Consultants released a
report entitled “Shale Gas Market by Technology for Power Generation,
Residential, Industrial, Commercial, Transportation and Other Applications:
Global Industry Perspective, Comprehensive Analysis, and Forecast, 2014-2020.”
The report provides a comprehensive analysis of shale gas market trends at a
global and regional level and provides forecasts for the evolution of the
market through 2020.
The report examined historic data from 2014 to predict
future shale gas evolution “from 2015 to 2020 based on volume (billion cubic
feet) and revenue (USD billion).” Zion Research declared that “the global demand for shale gas was valued at
USD 63 billion in 2014 [and] is expected
to reach USD 105 billion in 2020, growing at a [compound annual growth rate] of
around 9% between 2015 and 2020.”
The report predicts that the shale gas sector in Asia
Pacific will grow at a considerable pace, especially in China while in some
regions of the world, such as South America, the Middle East and Africa; shale
gas production will remain at a low pace. The report adds that “North America
accounted for over 75% share and consumption of shale gas in 2014.
